Blake Shelton has been a force in country music ever since the release of his 2001 debut single, Austin. The track spent five weeks at the top of Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart, securing Shelton’s place in the country music world.
Since then, Shelton has released a number of successful albums, including 2003′s The Dreamer, 2004′s Blake Shelton’s Barn & Grill (each certified gold) and 2007′s Pure BS. Startin’ Fires was released in 2008, and two EP’s Hillbilly Bone and All About Tonight were released in 2010, followed by Red River Blue in 2011. Shelton has seen 22 singles on the Hot Country Songs chart, and three nominations for the Grammy Awards. He is also known outside the country music world for judging singing competitions Nashville Star, Clash of the Choirs and most recently The Voice.
Shelton’s latest release is a 2012 Christmas album titled Cheers, It’s Christmas, which peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Top Holiday Albums and #2 on the Billboard Top Country Albums. Critical reviews have been generally positive, given the powerhouse artists backing Shelton along with his consistent country charm. Shelton brings in a host of super-star collaborators for his album: Miranda Lambert is featured, along with her band Pistol Annies, Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Trypta-Phunk and Kelly Clarkson. This album will definitely become a perennial Christmas favorite.
